Amol Rajan acknowledges he was ‘playing the wrong game’ following his early departure from Celebrity Traitors.

Amol Rajan recently reflected on his brief appearance in the new series of The Celebrity Traitors, expressing that he “played the wrong game” after being the first contestant eliminated. In the latest episode, he was targeted by secret traitors Richard E Grant and Maya Jama, while comedian James Acaster was also introduced as a traitor.

In a follow-up show, Rajan stated that, with hindsight, he realized he would have excelled as a traitor if he had been given the opportunity. He mentioned that if he had been selected after starting as a faithful participant, he might have adapted well to the role since he understood the game dynamics.

Rajan acknowledged that his approach as “the journalist asking all the awkward questions” caused him to play cautiously to avoid early elimination. The episode ended with heightened suspicion surrounding Richard E Grant, who had inadvertently revealed his traitor status to some participants.

The Celebrity Traitors continues airing Thursdays at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
