The City of Escondido is offering $85,000 in arts grants to support local creatives and strengthen its reputation as an arts and culture hub in North County. Grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 are available, with applications due by October 23. This initiative marks the third round of grants leading up to Arts, Culture and Creativity Month in April 2027.
Carol Rogers, a public arts commissioner, aims to change the perception of Escondido, emphasizing that the city is not just “hidden,” but filled with creativity. The grants support a wide range of artistic projects, including teaching art, performance art, murals, and nature-inspired creations.
Rogers encourages collaboration with artists from outside the city to further enhance the arts community. With ongoing projects like murals and sculptures, Escondido’s vibrant arts scene often surprises visitors.
