Jennifer Lawrence’s Upcoming Comedy: “One Month Mark” Directed by Gene Stupnitsky

Jennifer Lawrence is set to star in and produce a new comedy titled One Month Mark, with Gene Stupnitsky in final negotiations to direct. This project is a collaboration between Apple Original Films and Chernin Entertainment, based on a screenplay by Sophie Fleur de Bruijn.

Plot Overview

The contemporary romantic comedy revolves around two characters: a woman who has never managed to stay in a relationship for more than a month, and a man who cannot go longer than a month without being in one.

Production Details

Produced by Apple Studios, the film will feature David Ready and Peter Chernin from Chernin Entertainment as producers, alongside Lawrence and her producing partner Justine Ciarrocchi from Excellent Cadaver. Fleur de Bruijn and Brady Fujikawa will also serve as executive producers.

High Demand and Successful Auction

The project gained immense interest over the summer, attracting more than 40 producers and several unsolicited offers from studios and streamers. This frenzy is a testament to the strong appeal of the rom-com genre and the talent involved.

Director Selection

Stupnitsky’s association with Lawrence came after their previous collaboration on No Hard Feelings. The thorough search for a director highlighted Stupnitsky’s rising profile since the success of Good Boys in 2019.

Stupnitsky’s Background

In addition to Good Boys, Stupnitsky co-created the Emmy-nominated series Jury Duty and co-wrote several notable films like Bad Teacher. He is also producing the upcoming Sony comedy Narcs.

The film promises to be a blend of humor and romance, with Lawrence leading a project that already has significant buzz.
