Subaru of America, Inc. has announced a donation of nearly $3.2 million through its Subaru Loves Pets® initiative to support animal shelters across the U.S. This funding, administered by the ASPCA®, aims to enhance the lives of shelter animals through adoption, rescue, and access to health services.
By the end of October, Subaru will have donated over $75 million to animal welfare organizations since the initiative’s inception. Subaru is also celebrating National Make A Dog’s Day on October 22, which promotes the adoption of older dogs and dogs with disabilities, known as “Underdogs.”
Research shows that pets significantly influence travel decisions. A survey found that 73% of pet owners prefer road trips to flying to accommodate their pets, and 45% have declined travel that doesn’t allow their pets. This highlights the importance of the Subaru Loves Pets initiative in finding homes for shelter animals.
Matt Bershadker, ASPCA President and CEO, expressed gratitude for Subaru’s partnership in providing essential resources for animal shelters, emphasizing the need for safe, loving homes for animals in need.
Throughout October, Subaru is encouraging community involvement by donating funds for new subscribers to Subie Texts and for purchases of pet-friendly accessories, among other initiatives. For more details on how to participate, visit Subaru Loves Pets and follow them on social media.
