Maya Jama, the host of Love Island, recently expressed that she believes she has a unique advantage going into The Celebrity Traitors. As part of the show’s second season, scheduled to premiere on Thursday at 8 PM on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, she noted that her on-screen persona might not fully capture her true self, which could be beneficial in the competitive environment of the castle.
Speaking on her perceptions and how others might see her, Maya remarked, “I honestly don’t know what people’s perception of me is,” highlighting the contrast between her role on reality TV and her real-life personality. She emphasized that while she can appear warm, she can also be direct when necessary, suggesting that fellow contestants may lack a complete understanding of her character.
In deciding her role on the show, she initially preferred to be a “Faithful” but later considered the idea of embracing the experience fully, possibly as a “Traitor.”
The cast of the new season includes various celebrities, such as Bella Ramsey, Michael Sheen, and James Blunt, alongside Maya. Viewers can look forward to new episodes every Thursday and Friday night throughout the season.
