Ubisoft Welcomes Massive Entertainment Under Christoph Hartmann’s Leadership

Ubisoft has officially named its previously referred to “Creative House 2” as Massive Entertainment, under the leadership of Christoph Hartmann, the former Amazon Games head. This group will unify development teams in Montréal, Paris, Sweden, and Toronto, focusing on established franchises like Tom Clancy’s “The Division,” “Ghost Recon,” and “Splinter Cell,” as well as original titles like “March of Giants,” which Ubisoft acquired from Amazon.

Hartmann stated that the goal is to harness the teams’ collective creative energy to innovate on existing franchises and develop new games. Despite this branding change, Ubisoft assures that there will be no impact on current commitments to players or partners.

Additionally, Ubisoft’s first creative house, Vantage Studios, was established in October 2025, focusing on franchises like “Assassin’s Creed” and “Far Cry.” The company is also restructuring, aiming for €200 million in cost reductions in 2026 amid significant layoffs over the last year.
