Special Exhibition: Tom Swetland’s Sorcerers of the Imperium
Location: Invasive Weed Gallery, 97a Rockingham St, Bellows Falls
Exhibition Dates: October 3 – November 7
Opening Reception: Saturday, October 3, at 4 p.m.
Tom Swetland’s latest exhibition, Sorcerers of the Imperium – from Himmler to Hegseth, invites viewers to explore a haunting narrative woven into the fabric of our reality. As crises provoke intense shifts in society, the artist reveals a fantastical yet dark landscape where demons and sorcerers emerge, embodying the cruelty that can become normalized.
The exhibit offers a visual commentary on humanity’s ignorance in the face of impending doom, presenting the metaphor of a magical mountain that distorts perception—one that hides a devastating wave about to crash over the unsuspecting.
