The Olympic spirit is set to reach communities nationwide as organizers for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games have revealed that the Olympic Torch Relay will traverse all 50 states before arriving in Los Angeles. The journey will commence in Atlanta, the host city of the 1996 Summer Olympics, and the flame will initially be lit in Olympia, Greece, starting its U.S. journey in spring 2028.
Texas will also be included in this historic journey, though specific Texas stops, such as Houston, are yet to be announced. The complete route will be revealed in 2027. The relay is expected to spotlight major landmarks and cultural events, featuring festival celebrations in select cities. It will culminate in Los Angeles during the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games.
Additionally, both the Olympic and Paralympic Torch Relays will engage communities across the country, with the Paralympic relay following the Olympic Games. More details, including torchbearer nominations, will be released in the coming months.
The LA28 Olympic Games are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles in 2028.
