The “Big Dog Theory,” proposed by ex-rugby star Joe Marler, suggests that a well-known contestant, like a “big dog,” is likely to be selected as a traitor to create confusion and attract viewers. He speculated whether Sir Stephen Fry or Jonathan Ross could fill this role, ultimately discerning Ross as the potential traitor.
In the upcoming series, a host of prominent figures from entertainment, including Michael Sheen, Richard E. Grant, and Jerry Hall, are set to compete. Sheen, known for his versatile acting skills, is described as more of a lovable character in real life, raising curiosity about which persona he’ll display on the show.
Richard E. Grant, alongside model/actress Jerry Hall, may awe lesser-known contestants. Meanwhile, broadcaster Amol Rajan aims to play the game strategically, forming alliances while keeping a low profile initially. Ross Kemp is expected to shine in physical challenges, and there’s intrigue around James Blunt’s potential role, balancing his music persona with his online antics.
If the Big Dog Theory is correct, it’s likely one of these personalities will emerge as a traitor during the competition.
