Hundreds of Flights Grounded at Boston Logan Airport Due to Nor’easter Travel Disruption

A powerful nor’easter is hitting New England, causing significant travel disruptions. Hundreds of flights at Boston Logan International Airport have already been canceled, with officials warning that interruptions could extend into next week. According to FlightAware, 253 flights were canceled and 36 delayed on Saturday, as storm conditions worsened.

Sharon Williams of Massport noted that while things were calm early Saturday, the storm was expected to intensify throughout the day. Airlines and airport crews have prepared by securing equipment and readying facilities for the severe weather.

The storm is anticipated to impact all forms of transportation in the region, including air travel, roadways, rail service, and ferry operations. Travelers are urged to check with their airlines for the latest flight information, as cancellations are expected to rise.

With the nor’easter affecting airports along the East Coast, a ripple effect may lead to continued disruptions even after the storm’s worst has passed. Passengers are advised to monitor their flight statuses closely, particularly if they have flights scheduled through Tuesday. The storm is forecasted to bring heavy rain, strong winds, and hazardous travel conditions throughout the weekend.
