Oktoberfest in Cape Vincent, NY: A Celebration of Community and Tradition
CAPE VINCENT, New York (WWNY) – Oktoberfest is in full swing, marked by the cheerful clinking of glasses and lively polka music. Emcee Robert Gould emphasizes the strong community spirit: “The community comes out. We have a lot of great beer and food, creating a little Bavarian tradition here.”
Local breweries are the main draw, with Cape Vincent Chamber of Commerce President Ariel Gould-Pink noting, “We bring in ciders, beer, and Oktoberfest-themed items from our local distributors.” For those who prefer non-alcoholic options, there’s plenty of German food and coffee from local roasters.
Families are also welcomed, with a kids zone providing entertainment for the little ones. Gould said, “It’s definitely family friendly, and I see a few dogs around, so you can bring your four-legged family.”
Celebrating its 18th year, the festival has grown significantly over time, and organizers highlight the importance of connection. Gould-Pink added, “Everybody’s here to have a good time, listening to music, enjoying food, and letting the kids play in the bounce house.”
As Gould perfectly sums it up: “Brauts and beer and sauerkraut. I mean, what’s better on a beautiful afternoon?”
Join the community for a day of fun, food, and festivity!
