Update on Duke Energy Gas Work
Hermes & Watkins (Green on the map):
Most gas work on Hermes Ave, south of W. 12th Street, has been completed. A few residences are pending due to access issues, and some pavement restoration is still outstanding.
Pike Street (Orange on the map):
Duke Energy aims to finish all gas preparation work by mid-October. The completion date is tentative, as significant utility relocations and challenging field conditions are affecting excavation efforts.
W. 12th Street & MLK (Purple):
Conversion work will begin in early October.
Post-Installation:
After new gas lines are installed, Duke expects an additional two weeks for restoration, including cleanup and the removal of old gas infrastructure.
