Montenegro to abolish visa-free entry for Turkish nationals starting November 1.

Montenegro will end visa-free travel for Turkish citizens with ordinary passports as of November 1, 2026. This change means Turkish travelers will need to obtain a visa to enter Montenegro, where they have previously been allowed to stay for up to 30 days. The decision aligns Montenegro’s visa policy with European Union standards and also affects citizens from Belarus, China, Russia, and Saudi Arabia.

However, Turkish citizens holding valid visas or residence permits from Schengen countries, the U.S., the U.K., or Ireland will still be exempt from this requirement for stays of up to 30 days. Visa applications from Turkey can be submitted at VFS centers.

Previously, Turkish citizens had a visa-free stay limit of 90 days, which was reduced to 30 days in late 2025 after a temporary suspension of the visa-free policy. The removal of this allowance marks a significant change in travel regulations for Turkish citizens.
