Penn State Liberal Arts students visit Harrisburg for career exploration event.

The day featured a bipartisan panel moderated by Erin Wachter, including Pennsylvania Reps. David Madsen, Thomas Kutz, Carol Hill-Evans, and Catherine Wallen, who shared their public service journeys and offered advice on securing legislative jobs.

Students also engaged with a panel of young policy professionals, moderated by Judith Rojas. This panel featured Zachary Adams from the Center for Rural Pennsylvania, Natalie Krak from The Hershey Co., Tom Shark from the County Commissioners Association, and Natalie Brunner from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. They highlighted diverse career paths in public policy.

Rojas emphasized the importance of conversations with alumni and professionals, noting, “Days like Public Policy Career Exploration Day provide valuable networking opportunities.” She encouraged students to remain open, ask questions, and embrace the learning process as they consider their futures in public service.
