SHOCKING NEWS: 6A State Ranked Team to Forfeit Three Games Following Ineligible Player Discovery

The District 5-6A Executive Committee recently ruled Lewisville quarterback Laykon Brassfield ineligible for varsity competition due to a dual residency issue following his transfer from Edmond North High School in Oklahoma. This decision means he is ineligible until a residency waiver is approved by UIL. As a result, Lewisville, previously 3-0, will officially record a 0-3 record, resulting in forfeits for all non-district games where Brassfield played.

Despite this setback, the team’s playoff chances remain unaffected, as the forfeits are limited to non-district games. Lewisville will face Flower Mound Marcus tonight in the Battle of the Axe, with their situation still pending a waiver submission from Brassfield’s family for a possible review by UIL.
