The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation is advising residents and visitors to avoid nonessential travel to East Maui on Hāna Highway (Route 360) due to potential hazards from Hurricane Nolo. The highway is vulnerable to fallen trees, rocks, and flooding as the storm passes south of the islands. East Maui is expected to receive 4 to 6 inches of rain, with isolated areas possibly seeing up to 10 inches. For weather-related traffic alerts, visit HDOT Weather Traffic.
