The annual Mississippi Book Festival, held at the State Capitol, draws thousands of book lovers from across the country. Executive Director Ellen Daniels highlighted the event’s goal of uniting diverse Mississippians in a shared passion for reading. Celebrating its 12th year, the festival features a Literary Lawn Party with large tents provided by Mississippi Tent and Party Rentals for shade and comfort.
Notable authors attending this year include Kate McKinnon, Tisha Campbell, and rapper Rick Ross, who will discuss his third book. Last year’s festival saw over 10,000 attendees, with events kicking off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, followed by free activities at Smith Park and a special Cool Down event later in the evening.
