18-wheeler driver undergoes medical assessment following slow journey on U.S. 70

CRAVEN COUNTY — Authorities responded to reports of an 18-wheeler possibly in distress on U.S. 70. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol indicated that the truck was moving slowly in the eastbound lane. A state trooper, along with a Craven County sheriff’s deputy, managed to safely pull the vehicle over near mile marker 432. The driver was subsequently transported for medical evaluation.
