Alejandro Pino Takes New Role at Linn County Gaming Association

CEDAR RAPIDS — Alejandro Pino, the longstanding executive director of the Young Parents Network (YPN) in Cedar Rapids, is resigning from his position to become the executive director of the Linn County Gaming Association, effective November 2.

The Linn County Gaming Association (LCGA) will oversee the charitable funds from the new Cedar Crossing Casino. This nonprofit organization will direct financial resources back into the community through grants to local nonprofits and public entities.

In his new role, Pino will manage the grantmaking process, financial and strategic planning, and board governance. He will also act as the primary liaison to community partners, including local municipalities and the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission.

Anne Parmley, LCGA board president, praised Pino for his nonprofit leadership, financial expertise, and community connections, stating, “His track record of growing organizational capacity made him the clear choice to lead the LCGA into this next chapter.”

Pino has been with YPN since October 2018. He expressed gratitude for his selection, saying, “I strongly believe LCGA has the opportunity to create transformational change.”

The Cedar Crossing Casino, located at 777 Fourth St. NW, is set to open in mid-November. It will feature 700 slot machines, 22 table games, various restaurants, a STEM lab for children, and a 1,500-person entertainment venue. The facility is projected to generate around $2 million annually in local property taxes and will allocate 8% of its net adjusted gross revenue to support nonprofit organizations.
