Kittle Dismisses Jet Lag Narrative After 49ers’ Win Against Rams in Australia

George Kittle is pushing back against the narrative suggesting that the Los Angeles Rams’ loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne was due to a rushed travel schedule. In the NFL’s inaugural regular-season game in Australia, the 49ers dominated the Rams 27-7, with notable touchdown passes from Brock Purdy to Mike Evans, Demarcus Robinson, and Deebo Samuel.
While the 49ers acclimated in Melbourne for roughly a week, the Rams arrived just 28 hours before kickoff, prompting discussions about jet lag affecting performance. However, Kittle expressed confidence in his team’s abilities during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, stating, “I think we’re a pretty good team, so I think straight up we beat the Rams.”
Kittle acknowledged his own challenges during the trip, admitting to experiencing brain fog after just two days. “I think that would have been tough to play a football game on, but the Rams went out and did it their way,” he reflected.
Following the win, the 49ers maintained their momentum with a successful outing against the Miami Dolphins in Week 2. Kittle and the 49ers are now looking to build on their positive start as the season progresses.
