Free Pet Adoptions Coming to Evansville This Saturday
If you’ve been considering adding a furry friend to your family, this Saturday could be the day!
Animal lovers, get ready for an exciting event, as there are many adorable pets looking to find a new home.
The Vanderburgh Humane Society is partnering with the ASPCA for a special adoption event on Saturday, September 26. The best part? Adoption fees will be waived for eligible pets!
As part of The Rescue Effect, the shelter will offer free adoptions for pets that have already been spayed or neutered on that day.
Adoption fees can add up quickly, with VHS typically charging $200 for adult dogs, $250 for puppies, and $100 for cats and kittens. These fees help cover essential costs such as spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping.
Maybe You’ll Meet Your New Best Friend
VHS has a variety of available pets, ranging from sweet and snuggly to playful and full of personality. If you’ve been thinking about adopting, this is a great opportunity to stop by and meet some adorable companions.
The shelter’s regular Saturday adoption hours are noon to 6 p.m. and it’s located at 400 Millner Industrial Drive in Evansville. Prospective adopters will need to complete a short application to help match them with the right pet.
Please note, the free adoption special applies only to pets that are already spayed or neutered.
Ultimately, the message of the event is clear: Adopt a pet, help many. That’s The Rescue Effect.
