Taylor Swift to Debut Music Video for “Patient Zero” at 2026 MTV VMAs
Taylor Swift is set to premiere her new music video for the single “Patient Zero” during the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night. The teaser for the video, released on Thursday, showcases an impressive cast featuring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, with Swift herself taking the helm as director.
“Patient Zero” is part of a collection of four new songs that Swift will release on Friday, accompanying her 2025 album, The Life of a Showgirl, which was last year’s best-selling album, according to Billboard.
In a social media post, Swift shared that the new tracks were born during a celebratory trip to Sweden with her collaborators Max Martin and Shellback. She expressed gratitude for her success and revealed that their creative energy led to the writing of more music.
The updated album, The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, containing the four new tracks, is available for preorder now.
Additionally, Swift will be honored with the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors at the awards show, recognizing her innovative contributions to music video art. She is nominated for nine awards this year, including Video of the Year and Artist of the Year.
