Lion Travel Service Sets to Expand Global Reach at Tourism EXPO Japan 2026

Tokyo, Sept. 24, 2026 – Lion Travel Service (TAIEX: 2731), Taiwan’s largest listed travel company, is poised for a significant global expansion. For the first time, it will showcase a dedicated booth at Tourism EXPO Japan 2026, running from September 24 to 27 at Tokyo Big Sight, under the banner of its Japanese subsidiary, Lion Travel Japan.

Lion Travel Japan serves as a pivotal hub in the company’s international network, offering a wide range of travel services since its establishment in 2009. Recently, the company has expanded its operations with new branches in Okinawa and Kumamoto to cater to the growing demand, especially from semiconductor-related companies.

According to the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), a record 42.68 million foreign visitors traveled to Japan in 2025, with Taiwanese visitors numbering 6.76 million.

Expanding Global Access

Lion Travel harnesses its extensive global network—including locations in the U.S., Canada, and Australia—to enhance its travel services. Moving forward, the company aims to widen its reach to travelers from various countries, promoting Japan as a key destination.

Additionally, the outbound travel market is recovering, with approximately 14.73 million Japanese traveling overseas in 2025. Lion Travel Japan is actively developing both domestic and international travel markets, focusing on locally departing bus tours and direct collaborations with local governments across Japan.

Immersive Exhibition Experience

At the Tourism EXPO Japan 2026, Lion Travel’s booth will embody the theme “Global Travel Train,” resembling an international terminal station. The booth will offer an interactive experience with features such as virtual train rides and a unique fragrance inspired by Taiwan’s premium scenic train, THE FUTURE.

The focus will be on two main offerings: local bus tours and premium scenic trains, showcasing globally distinctive tourism experiences.

Featured Scenic Trains include:

  • THE FUTURE and The Moving Kitchen for luxurious experiences
  • HAIFENG and SHANLAN, popular among women travelers
  • Formosensis and Vivid Express, connected to the Alishan Forest Railway
  • BREEZY BLUE, evoking nostalgia

The company’s strategies also include a globally supported travel app, LionTrip, enhancing convenience for travelers worldwide.

Conclusion

Lion Travel Service is committed to leveraging its global foundation and presence in Japan to intensify its travel services, uniting Japan, Taiwan, and the broader global market.
