Celebrity Series to Conclude After 59 Seasons | Campus/Community

The Westminster College Celebrity Series, a cherished performing arts program that has brought live entertainment to Orr Auditorium for 59 seasons, will conclude after the final performance on April 24, 2027. This decision follows the retirement of Connie McGinnis, the longtime director, who has been involved with the program since 1997. Under her leadership, the series evolved from its origins as part of the Artist-Lecture series into a platform showcasing renowned artists.

Notable past performers have included Tony Bennett, Chris Botti, and Amy Grant, while also welcoming lesser-known talents who made significant impacts. McGinnis emphasized the importance of community and connections fostered through the series, describing it as a space where friendships were formed, and families shared memorable experiences.

The 2026-2027 season lineup features performances by Three Dog Night, The Barricade Boys, Under the Streetlamp, and concludes with “Live and Let Die: The Music of Paul McCartney.” McGinnis reflected on the joy of a filled auditorium and expressed gratitude to attendees for their support over the years.

Tickets for the final season are available through the Westminster College website or by contacting the box office, marking a poignant end to a beloved tradition.
