Castel Group has launched its new energy drink brand, Ferox, in four African countries—Cameroon, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, and Gabon—through its subsidiary, Boissons du Cameroun. The drink, produced locally in Cameroon, is available in both bottled and 50cl canned formats.
CEO Gregory Clerc announced the launch on LinkedIn, emphasizing the brand’s incorporation of taurine, caffeine, and various vitamins. Notably, Francis Ngannou, the French-Cameroonian boxer, has been chosen as the brand ambassador, representing values of perseverance and self-improvement that Ferox embodies.
Research from GlobalData projects that energy drink sales in Cameroon will exceed $80 million by 2030, up from an estimated $52.8 million last year. Additionally, volume sales are expected to grow from 8.6 million liters to 11.5 million liters in the same timeframe.
Boissons du Cameroun, based in Douala, claims to be the leading food and beverage company in the country, producing a wide range of beverages, including beers, soft drinks, and alcoholic mixes.
