In a message issued on Tuesday, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his condolences for the passing of Grand Ayatollah Shubairi Zanjani, recognizing him as a dedicated scholar who spent his life in learning, teaching, and research. Khamenei highlighted the late cleric’s expertise in Islamic legal rulings, noting that his lessons were characterized by rigorous examination and extensive research, even in small classes.
Over the past three decades, many scholars have drawn from his vast knowledge and integrated his teachings into their work. Khamenei praised Zanjani’s humble and fatherly demeanor, emphasizing that his presence was marked by both teaching and learning.
The Leader remarked that the loss of such a significant figure has left a notable gap among contemporary Shiite researchers, which may take time to fill. He extended his condolences to Imam Mahdi, Islamic seminaries, and especially to the late scholar’s students and family, praying for the elevation of Zanjani’s spiritual rank.
