Pope Leo XIV Visits the Dicastery for Culture and Education

By Christopher Wells

Pope Leo XIV recently made a significant visit to the Dicastery for Culture and Education, dedicating an hour to engage with its employees and staff. During the visit, he acknowledged the vital role of culture—especially through sports and the arts—in fostering dialogue and creating opportunities for connection across diverse communities.

In a public statement, the Holy Father expressed his gratitude for the employees’ dedication and encouraged them to continue their important work in service to both the Church and the broader world.

Referencing the mission outlined by his predecessor, Pope Francis, in Praedicate Evangelium, Pope Leo reiterated the Dicastery’s commitment to developing human values grounded in Christian anthropology. He stressed the Roman Curia’s role as a “precious instrument” for disseminating the essential teachings of the Faith.

To conclude his visit, Pope Leo blessed all in attendance and extended his blessings to their families as well.
