Battlestate Games’ New Publishing Arm
Battlestate Games, the creators of Escape from Tarkov, have launched a new publishing division aimed at supporting unconventional and high-risk games that traditional publishers may shy away from. Their goal is to nurture innovative titles that bring fresh ideas to the gaming industry, moving away from repetitive designs.
Insights from Nikita Buyanov
In a recent interview with PCGamesN, Nikita Buyanov, head of Battlestate Games, emphasized that their focus is not on profit but on aiding struggling developers by providing them with the resources necessary to bring their games to market. This step underscores their quest for more daring and unique gaming experiences that could potentially redefine genres.
Buyanov has also been busy working with a new studio, Rant Games, on a hardcore sci-fi shooter titled Fragmentary Order. He expressed a keen interest in exploring risky game concepts that may lead to groundbreaking changes in the industry.
“I just want to see and test those risky games. They can change everything… It’s what we need right now.” – Nikita Buyanov
This philosophy of prioritizing innovation over financial gain parallels the approach taken with Escape from Tarkov, a game known for its challenging mechanics.
