The Deepavali Festival, celebrating Indian culture through music, dance, and food, will return to Long Island on October 3. Organized by the Association of Indians in America-New York, this will be the 39th celebration, held at Overlook Beach. Last year’s event featured 5,000 attendees and will include performances, competitions, children’s activities, and over 40 vendors.
British-Indian singer Arjun will headline the evening, followed by a fireworks display to conclude the festivities. The festival promotes cultural sharing and inclusiveness, emphasizing themes of community and togetherness. Admission and parking are free, and the event runs from noon to 8 p.m.
