Madonna and Charli XCX Take Over the Dance Floor

Madonna and Charli XCX are collaborating on a new track titled “Danceteria Afterhours,” inspired by Madonna’s “Danceteria” from her recent album Confessions II. Produced by Stuart Price, the track will be released on Thursday, September 24, through Warner Records.

This collaboration follows their CLUB CONFESSIONS party during Paris Fashion Week and an array of playful social media exchanges that excited fans. “Danceteria Afterhours” aims to blend Madonna’s influence on dance music with Charli’s innovative pop approach.

Charli noted in a June interview with BBC 6 that her time spent with Madonna in Paris was inspiring, highlighting Madonna’s passion for discussing her music.

The single will also be available in limited-edition CD configurations. It precedes Madonna’s performance at the MTV Video Music Awards—her first in 23 years—where she boasts 13 nominations. Meanwhile, Charli is currently on the North American leg of her tour promoting Music, Fashion, Film.
