The city of Lake Oswego’s Cultural Xchange promises a vibrant experience filled with music, food, and community spirit. Scheduled for Sunday, September 27, this year’s event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Millennium Plaza Park.
Emily Liu, the Lake Oswego recreation supervisor, highlights the event’s family-friendly atmosphere: “It’s a welcoming place where people can learn, try new foods, and experience new music. Everyone is open to sharing their stories.”
Among the performers is Sangjaru, a Korean-folk fusion band traveling from South Korea. Parks and recreation staff member Lance Hofstad praised the group’s unique blend of traditional and modern sounds, adding that attendees should not miss their performance.
Other musical acts include:
- A Cara O Cruz Band (Latin group)
- Grupo Masato (Colombian and Peruvian influences)
- WRK! (ambient group)
Food vendors will offer a variety of cuisines, including options from a Guatemalan and Mexican café, Rosa’s Churros, and Biscuits & Gravy. Lake Oswego City Councilor Massene Mboup will kick off the event, and the White Lotus Dragon & Lion Dance group will perform. Various nonprofits will also be present, celebrating different world histories and cultures.
In conjunction with the Cultural Xchange, the Arts Council of Lake Oswego will conduct Gallery Without Walls tours and present the People’s Choice Award for a new sculpture, which will join the city’s permanent collection.
