WPBF 25 First Warning meteorologists are monitoring Invest 99-L, located in the eastern subtropical Atlantic Ocean, several hundred miles southwest of the Azores.
Key Updates:
- Current Status: Showers and thunderstorms linked to a low-pressure system have not become more organized, but a tropical depression could still develop later today.
- Movement: The system is expected to move slowly and then turn southwest by early next week. Environmental conditions may become less favorable for development starting Sunday night or Monday.
- Development Chances: There is an 80% chance of development within the next 48 hours and the same percentage over the next seven days.
- Impact Forecast: The system is predicted to stay over the open Atlantic, with no expected impacts on Florida at this time.
