Kyoto is set to host an immersive digital art exhibition titled “Naked Meets Nijo Castle 2026,” running from October 23 to December 5. Presented by the creative collective Naked, known for blending technology with storytelling, the exhibition will transform Nijo Castle into a stunning spectacle of light, sound, and interactive art.
The event celebrates the 400th anniversary of the 1626 Kanei Gyoko (Imperial Visit), which marked a significant cultural exchange between the imperial court and the samurai class. Attendees will explore three thematic zones starting at the grand Karamon Gate, adorned with vibrant digital projections, and continue through the Ninomaru Palace and Seiryuen Garden, where traditional poetry and illuminated scenery merge.
Visitors can engage with interactive art, customizing projections on traditional garments, and experience Masako’s Night Tea Party, blending art and tea culture.
The exhibition runs daily from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with tickets available at local convenience stores and online. This event promises a captivating experience that bridges Kyoto’s rich cultural heritage with contemporary artistry.
