The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter (UPAWS) is hosting an “Empty the Shelter” event this weekend in partnership with the Bissell Pet Foundation. This initiative aims to help find loving homes for animals in need.
Here are the key details:
-
Adoption Fees:
- Dogs under 7 years: $70
- Cats under 7 years: $25
- Dogs and cats over 7 years: Free
- Rabbits: Free
-
Inclusions: Each adoption comes with vaccines, microchips, and neutering at no additional cost.
UPAWS Community Outreach Coordinator Ann Brownell recommends reviewing the bios of available animals before visiting. This way, prospective adopters can find pets that match their lifestyle, whether they’re looking for an energetic companion or a more laid-back pet.
