GE Vernova to Provide 29.4 MW of Wind Power for Eurus Energy’s Hiyamizutouge Initiative

GE Vernova is deploying 4.2 MW turbines, designed for Japan’s specific wind conditions, as part of their established 4 MW platform, which boasts over 2 million operational hours. Gilan Sabatier, GE Vernova’s Chief Commercial Officer for Onshore Wind, expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with Eurus Energy on the Hiyamizutouge project, highlighting that their technology currently powers 25% of Japan’s installed wind capacity.

Masaru Akiyoshi, of Eurus Energy, also noted the partnership’s significance in achieving Japan’s renewable goals, particularly in a new wind farm in Aomori. This initiative supports Japan’s target of generating 36–38% of its electricity from renewables by 2030, alongside a collaborative effort with Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to bolster energy security and innovation.

GE Vernova’s wind segment emphasizes a reliable, standardized approach with over 59,000 turbines worldwide, leveraging extensive experience in their designs.
