A water technology company, Infiltrator Water Technology, is set to establish a manufacturing facility in Davenport’s West End, bringing up to 26 jobs to the area. The company plans to invest over $7 million to convert an 84,000-square-foot former cold storage building on South Stark Street into a hub for eco-friendly septic and storm water products.
Duane Wilder, the director of operations, highlights the benefits of this move, noting that it will allow the company to expand into growing markets in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa. The city is supporting the initiative with a tax break through a program called URTE, incentivizing the renovation of the building.
Suzanne Knutsen, the city’s economic development manager, emphasizes the significance of the new manufacturing operation for Davenport. Renovation work is expected to commence next month, with plans to have the first shift of workers ready by early next year.
