Republican State Sen. Jim Tedisco is voicing his concerns over a recent not guilty verdict in an animal cruelty case in Saratoga County involving Yvette Giovanni, owner of A Time Four Paws. Giovanni faced multiple charges, including aggravated cruelty to animals, after investigators reported a dog dying under her care and several others found in poor conditions.
In response to the case, Tedisco is advocating for the NYS Safe Pet Boarding Act, which aims to establish minimum standards for doggy daycare and boarding facilities in the state. He emphasized the current lack of regulations, calling the situation “the ‘Wild West’ of animal care laws,” and underscored the need for families to have peace of mind when leaving their pets in professional care.
