A Jackson woman, Laura Arcuri, is heartbroken after her request for a private cremation for her Chihuahua, Neut, was not honored. She believed that her dog, who passed away at 17, would receive a respectful farewell but later discovered that Neut was cremated alongside 19 other pets.
A manager at the Pet Angel Memorial Center contacted Arcuri to apologize, explaining that two team members had failed to follow established protocols. This revelation has left her feeling misled and regretful, expressing concerns about the trustworthiness of the service.
Arcuri stated, “If I knew this would’ve been a possibility, I wouldn’t have chanced it,” emphasizing the emotional toll of not receiving Neut’s remains. Pet Angel acknowledged the error and stated they are investigating the matter, noting that the employees involved have been fired. However, the process of obtaining Neut’s ashes remains complicated as it requires consent from the other families affected.
