Ayo Edebiri, alongside stylist Danielle Goldberg, chose a stunning custom gown for the 2026 Emmys, drawing inspiration from Matthieu Blazy’s debut cruise collection for Chanel. The black floral gown originally captured their attention, but for the awards show, Blazy suggested a vibrant redesign.
The final look featured a dreamy sky-blue silk silhouette enhanced by a dramatic vermillion-red bow. The dress’s creation involved meticulous craftsmanship, taking 163 hours to complete, showcasing intricate tailoring and pleating. Edebiri expressed her love for the gown, emphasizing its joyful and unexpected color scheme.
Goldberg styled the dress with delicate pearl earrings and silver sandals. Makeup artist Dee Carrion complemented the vibrant ensemble with a neutral glam look that kept the focus on Edebiri’s glowing complexion, incorporating a red-orange blush for added vibrancy.
Referring to the outfit as fun, Edebiri noted its perfect match for the evening, which was especially significant as it marked the final awards season for her show, The Bear, after a five-season run.
