Convergint has acquired Surveillance Systems Incorporated (SSI), marking its entry into the gaming industry. Although financial details were not disclosed, this acquisition allows Convergint to leverage SSI’s expertise in providing integrated security for highly regulated gaming environments.
SSI’s established relationships with major gaming operators and its specialized knowledge in surveillance systems will enable Convergint to build a dedicated gaming security practice in North America, with possibilities for international expansion. This move aligns with Convergint’s strategy of combining organic growth with targeted acquisitions to tap into new markets.
Founded in 2001 and based in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Convergint employs over 11,000 people across more than 200 locations. Its services primarily cater to critical infrastructure, data centers, financial institutions, healthcare, and the public sector— with gaming now added to its diverse portfolio.
Sean Flint, President of Convergint, emphasized the growth potential in gaming, stating, “Gaming represents a significant growth opportunity for Convergint, and SSI provides the expertise, relationships, and market knowledge to establish a strong foundation.”
