Live Announcement of Celebrity Cast for Season 35 of “Dancing with the Stars”

“Dancing with the Stars” has announced its Season 35 cast, featuring 16 celebrities who will compete for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy. The judges returning this season are Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli, while Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianna Hough will co-host.

The cast was unveiled live on “Good Morning America” on September 2, with the first pair revealed earlier: Guillermo Rodriguez and pro Witney Carson. Other notable pairs include Maura Higgins with Mark Ballas, and Jenna Dewan with Val Chmerkovskiy. Both Dewan and fellow dancer Harry Shum Jr. have faced criticism for their dance backgrounds but have emphasized the challenges of transitioning to ballroom dancing.

The season will also feature its third same-sex pairing, with model Sarah Jane Nader partnered with Hailey Bills. Notable participants include Olympic athletes Ezra French and Amber Glenn, celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis, and Tyler Cameron from “The Bachelorette.”

Season 35 premieres with a two-night event on September 15 and 16 at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+, with episodes available to stream the following day on Hulu.
