A local nonprofit, Friends of Manatee County Animal Welfare (FoMCAW), celebrated its 10th anniversary with a Birthday Bash at Sarasota Dog Bar on Sunday. The event, held from noon to 4 p.m., brought together community members and their pets for an afternoon filled with food, drinks, raffles, silent auctions, and pet-friendly activities.
Highlights included complimentary dog baths, cupcakes, pet treat bags, opportunities to meet adoptable pets, and shopping with local vendors. The event also served as a collection drive for pet food, toys, and other donations.
Over the past decade, FoMCAW has funded critical medical treatments and surgeries for shelter animals in Manatee County, provided dog beds and enrichment materials, treated heartworm-positive dogs, and supported adoption efforts for thousands of homeless pets. Organizers emphasized that the celebration was a testament to the community’s support in improving the lives of animals in need.
