Rob Brydon has shared his reluctance to participate in Celebrity Traitors, citing the lack of sleep as a major concern. In an interview with The Times, he emphasized that while the show appears fun and has a strong following, he has enough enjoyment in his life without adding such challenges.
Despite turning 60 and experiencing a shift in his career—taking on more projects and embracing new opportunities—he remains steadfast in his decision against reality TV. He noted that the mind games and the atmosphere of the Scottish castle don’t appeal to him.
Conversely, Brydon has drawn inspiration from the show for his role in Destination X, wanting to add a similar lightness to his hosting style, acknowledging Claudia Winkleman’s effective balance on Celebrity Traitors.
His Gavin & Stacey co-star Ruth Jones also turned down an invitation to join the show, expressing her initial interest but ultimately reconsidering due to the physical challenges involved.
In his free time, Brydon has taken up interests like jazz, vintage cars, and fitness routines, reflecting on his changing family dynamics as his children grow older. He is proud of their diverse career paths, ranging from chef to casting director.
