Art Garfunkel among celebrities contemplating relocation overseas due to Trump presidency.

Art Garfunkel has expressed concerns regarding the United States under President Donald Trump’s administration, indicating he is contemplating leaving the country. In a recent interview with The Guardian, the 84-year-old musician stated, “I don’t like America’s position at all” and mentioned that he is “thinking of leaving the country, frankly.”

He criticized the administration’s stance on critical issues such as climate change and international affairs, stating, “It’s real that the planet is getting warmer, that the water’s rising, that so many people are starving.” Garfunkel also questioned Trump’s military actions, specifically the operation leading to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, expressing disbelief at the idea of the U.S. simply taking over another country.

Garfunkel’s remarks add him to a growing list of celebrities who have considered relocating due to dissatisfaction with the current political climate. Democratic strategist Kaivan Shroff noted that while celebrity threats to leave often seem dramatic, Garfunkel’s long-standing career lends weight to his expressions of alienation and discontent concerning America’s role in the world today.
