Two people were displaced after a house fire in Cold Springs on Saturday, although firefighters successfully rescued two pets and prevented the flames from spreading to nearby homes.
Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue responded around noon to the small, unoccupied, single-story residence. They conducted a search of the home and rescued one cat and one dog, continuing to look for two more cats post-fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The fire displaced two adults, and the American Red Cross of Nevada is assisting them with immediate needs. Multiple agencies, including the Nevada Peer Support Network and NV Energy, responded to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
