The Tennessee Titans have decided to postpone Chris Johnson’s induction into their Ring of Honor, initially scheduled for halftime of their season opener against the New York Jets. The postponement is due to unforeseen circumstances preventing Johnson and his family from traveling to Nashville.
The Titans stated they will hold the official induction ceremony at a later date, while still dedicating the halftime show to Johnson’s accomplishments. He was honored with this recognition shortly after revealing his ALS diagnosis on “Good Morning America.”
Johnson, who played for the Titans from 2008 to 2013, is celebrated for his remarkable career, including a 2,006-yard season in 2009, making him one of only six players in NFL history to surpass 2,000 rushing yards in a single season. He accumulated a commendable total of 9,651 rushing yards and is poised to become the 20th member of the Titans’ Ring of Honor when the induction ceremony is eventually held.
