Exciting New Expansion for The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past
I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming expansion, Songs of the Past, for The Witcher 3, which is set to release next year. This add-on will introduce a new region and deepen our understanding of Dandelion, though I’m more excited about exploring fresh landscapes than the character’s backstory. However, any additional content related to The Witcher 3 is still a win, even if it doesn’t feature my favorite character—Johnny the Godling.
The expansion was previewed at Gamescom, and it received positive feedback from our own Joshua Wolens, who noted its impressive visuals. Fans will have the opportunity to get a closer look at Songs of the Past during PAX Australia, with a private demo scheduled for October 11, where attendees can join CD Projekt and the DLC developer Fool’s Theory.
Beyond The Witcher 3, PAX Australia will feature a range of events, including discussions with prominent figures like World of Warcraft’s Holly Longdale and interviews with Final Fantasy 14 veterans. The tabletop gaming community will also be represented, with Jasmine ‘ThatBronzeGirl’ Bhullar leading a session on storytelling in D&D.
PAX Australia is happening from October 9–11 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, and fans can check the full schedule on the PAX website for detailed event listings.
