Dynatrace Launches New AI-Driven Platform Tools

Dynatrace has unveiled a comprehensive suite of product updates, focusing on what it terms Dynatrace Intelligence. This announcement also includes enhanced integrations with major public cloud platforms and new features for Real User Monitoring.

The changes were highlighted during the company’s annual Perform user conference in Las Vegas, where Dynatrace emphasized the themes of agentic AI, cloud operations, and developer tools. The presentation also showcased successful deployments from customers, such as TELUS.

In response to organizations grappling with increasing volumes of operational data and intricate technology ecosystems, Dynatrace’s latest product strategy aims to meet the growing demand for AI adoption across various operations and products.

Dynatrace Intelligence

Introducing Dynatrace Intelligence marks a new era for the platform. The company defines this as a combination of deterministic intelligence and agentic AI.

The deterministic aspect relies on “real-time causal context,” while the agentic element is characterized by its ability to “reason, decide, and act within defined guardrails.”

All data is unified and stored in Grail, and with Smartscape, a “causal topology” continuously enriches the data. Dynatrace associates this methodology with greater explainability and reliability of insights.

Agents and Workflows

Additionally, Dynatrace introduced Dynatrace Intelligence Agents, which are designed to automate actions within workflows. This innovative approach is termed “agentic operations.”

The agents are aimed at achieving “closed-loop autonomous outcomes” across both IT and business operations. Specialized agents can collaborate across various domains and responsibilities, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

Cloud Integrations

Expanded cloud-native integrations have been announced for Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. These updates are intended to provide a more cohesive view across multi-cloud environments.

According to Dynatrace, the refreshed integrations enhance visibility, enabling teams to identify and resolve issues swiftly while minimizing disruptions for end users.

This work in cloud operations is closely linked to the Grail data layer, Smartscape dependency graph, and Dynatrace Intelligence, leveraging AI to manage the increasing complexity of contemporary environments.

Developer Tooling

Updates aimed at improving the developer experience were also a key focus. These enhancements evolve observability into “an active system of control” tailored for cloud and AI-driven software delivery.

The updated developer experience integrates frontend and backend telemetry along with AI telemetry, database data, cloud data, and mobile data. This unified experience is built upon Grail, Smartscape, and Dynatrace Intelligence.

Dynatrace also highlighted “agentic and LLM-driven applications,” introducing a “production-first” perspective. This allows humans and AI agents to effectively assess live system behavior, enabling teams to “safely experiment in production” and mitigate risks without needing redeployments or manual adjustments.

Customer Examples

During the conference, Dynatrace showcased various customers across industries who have successfully deployed Dynatrace AI Observability for their growth initiatives.

Dynatrace described its platform as “the control plane for AI in production,” emphasizing that clients use it for enhanced visibility and governance as they integrate agentic AI at scale. The TELUS case was specifically mentioned as a noteworthy example.

Real User Monitoring

In a significant development, Dynatrace announced what it calls next-generation Real User Monitoring. This new product merges front-end telemetry with back-end context.

As organizations transition to cloud-native architectures and create AI-driven applications leveraging large language models and other AI services, traditional RUM tools are “hitting limitations.”

Users can now analyze frontend data in conjunction with logs, metrics, traces, and business events on a single platform, promoting end-to-end visibility and expedited troubleshooting.

“Dynatrace is advancing observability for today’s digital businesses, helping to transform the complexity of modern digital ecosystems into powerful business assets,” said Rick McConnell, CEO, Dynatrace.

Future product and platform updates related to agentic AI will be explored further in upcoming Perform sessions.
