Washington men’s basketball coach Danny Sprinkle has announced that Jayson Wells will join the team as the Director of Mindset & Culture. Wells comes from Cal State Fullerton, where he served as an assistant coach for two seasons. His experience includes roles as a skills development and mental performance coach, focusing on mindset and leadership for the Titans.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Wells founded Jayson’s Playground and the Shoes Have Souls Podcast after retiring from professional basketball in 2010. He also worked with Chapman & Co. Leadership Institute, earning recognition for his impact while consulting for various organizations.
From 2012 to 2017, he directed skill development for Nike Grassroots Basketball, including the esteemed Nike Elite 100 camp. His playing career spanned 13 years internationally, during which he achieved considerable success, including championships in Finland, Ukraine, and Israel.
Wells attended Indiana State University, where he excelled in scoring and rebounding, earning All-Missouri Valley honors.
