Which airline offers the lowest fares to New York? A comparison of five carriers by ynet.

Israir has recently launched a new route to New York and is experiencing strong demand, reporting $8 million in bookings shortly after sales opened. The airline aims to provide “real competition” with attractive prices, but an analysis reveals significant fare variations depending on travel dates.

Demand is particularly high for the Jewish holiday season, resulting in many flights being close to sold out. However, for later dates in fall and early winter, fares can differ by hundreds of dollars across airlines like El Al, Arkia, Israir, Delta, and United.

Comparative fare analyses from September to early January show no single airline consistently offering the cheapest fares. Airfares are dynamic and subject to change based on demand and availability. For instance, during the initial September period, El Al had sold out all seats, while Israir was the most affordable option at $2,299.

As travel dates progress into late October, for flights between October 22 and November 2, Arkia emerged with the lowest fare at $1,198. Going into mid-November and early December, Delta began to dominate with competitive fares.

Ahead of Christmas, El Al offered the lowest fare between December 22 and December 29. Consistently, Israir’s entry into the market has added another option, although it was not the cheapest most of the time. Overall, while Israir had competitive prices during peak seasons, other airlines such as Arkia and Delta often had the lowest fares later in the year.

Israir’s ticket sales began on a staggered schedule, and while they reported $8 million in bookings, there are still many high-demand periods in the future that have yet to open for sale.
